Relationship of saturated fats with body weight is one of the most controversial and wide topic for debate and researches. Some of the experts are in favour that fat irrespective whether they are saturated or unsaturated should be avoided in weight loss program. On the other hand, some believe that saturated fat should be used in moderate amount.

Fat is one of the most calories containing aspect of nutrition. It is one of the prominent part of human diet. Fats mainly are categorized into three parts trans fat, saturated fat and unsaturated fat. Every fat is made up of oxygen hydrogen carbon molecules. Though according to science, unsaturated fats are ranked on the top for health and trans fat is the unhealthiest form of fat. Since a very long time, health organizations and experts are advising to replace your saturated and trans fat from vegetable based oils and unsaturated fats.
• Saturated fat and cardiovascular health.
One of the main reasons to limit down the use of saturated fats in diet, it is a prominent factor for increasing heart diseases. As it increases bad HDL cholesterol levels in the body, this thing is scientifically proven too. Researches and have proves that saturated is very harmful for the body, especially for heart and cardiovascular system. Though use of saturated fat is not the cause of any heart disease. But it can be the cause of factors that can lead to severe heart diseases. ApoB is protein that’s the prominent constituent of bad cholesterol is a predictor of heart risks.
• Saturated Fats and other risks.
As the bad impacts of saturated fats on heart is well known and well researched. But there are some other aspects also. Regarding the harmful effects of saturated fats on the body. Two of them are inflammation and mental decline. Facts and researchers suggest that use of saturated fats accelerates inflammation partly by mimicking action of bacterial toxins.
Meanwhile human trials and studies also revealed that access use of saturated fats may have adverse effects on mental health, metabolism and appetite. But till now this aspect has very less number of researches and studies. And many of the human trials are currently under process.
• Saturated fats in the diet.
We can enjoy food rich in saturated fat as a part of healthy diet too. Coconut oil and coconut products, grass fed whole milk yogurt are some of the best examples of saturated fat that are healthy too. But one have to avoid the saturated fat content in processed food like fried junk food and other packed edibles. This is a major link between increase in obesity and weight gain among the people.

Though saturated fats are considered as in health and healthy dietary substance since long time. But till now evident amount of research is are not available. However, the use of saturated fat can depend from person to person. But then also it is advisable to increase the use of unsaturated fats and vegetable oils in your diet.
