Jalebi is one of the most common name in Indian sweets. Moreover, this season of sweets and of festivals is there and Jalebi will surely be there in any sweet dish list. Basically jalebi is an Indian sweet that has round coiled tube shape. This coiled tube is just filled with sugar syrup that makes its taste more appealing.
There are several different varieties of Jalebis available. The most popular varieties include khajoor Jalebi, anjir Jalebi, angoor Jalebi.

For the preparation of Jalebi an earthen vessel or pot is taken in its inner wall is anointed with sour curd. Later in that vessel, the required amount of Maida (a form of wheat flour) with Some amount of curd and ghee are mixed. Then this mixture is left for particular period so that it can go through fermentation.
When the mixture is ready for use, it is taken in a small cloth which has a finger tip size hole. From this hole, the mixture is dropped in circular pattern on the frying pan with oil. Later it is solved in sugar syrup.
Sometimes for taste, an garnishing one can add camphor, cardamom, saffron according to requirements. Moreover for best of its taste it is generally enjoyed with curd as toping.

This Indian cuisine is tasty and quite energising. It has several health benefits on human body that one must be aware of. But the thing to keep in mind is all the below mentioned health benefits are not scientifically proven. People just claim them on the basis of their experiences.

1. Jalebi is generally advised to pregnant women, Especially during second and third semester of pregnancy. It is claimed that Jalebi is quite nutritious and healthy for the baby in womb.
2. In some parts of our country taking Jalebi early in the morning with luke warm water is a common tradition. Cause it is claimed for having effects on gastric and hyperacidity issues of digestive system.
3. Having Jalebi with curd helps in promoting growth of beneficial gut bacteria. The reason behind this is fermented dough used and prebiotics of curd.
4. Having Jalebi with lukewarm milk have positive effects on headache and migraine. It is in common Indian belief but till now no scientific proof or evidence is available.
Other claimed health benefits of eating Jalebi. Mostly includes increase in sexual desire, on constipation, in oligospermia. The above mentioned health benefits may be because of high nutritive value and aphrodisiac qualities of Jalebi.
But just avoid overeating because it contains high amount of sugar and fats. It’s possible that one may increase weight by just focusing on few benefits.
